Looking like a Bride
A few weeks ago, I was honored to go wedding dress shopping with a friend who is getting married later this year. It was so much fun seeing her try on several different gowns and start to truly look like a bride. I remember my own experience trying on wedding gowns quite fondly. It was when everything felt real--I really was getting married and going to walk down the aisle wearing white. After trying on dozens of gowns, I finally found “the one” to wear when I became a wife. The dress, the veil and the bridal jewelry all came together as I became a bride.
Bridal Accessories and Jewelry
As special as a wedding dress can be, I’ll be honest with you--my dress is now hanging in my closet. While you can’t wear your wedding dress again, you can wear your jewelry. It’s a reminder of your wedding day that you can wear over and over again.
Wearing my wedding necklace gives me the chance to hold that memory close to my heart weeks, months and years later. Matching earrings and necklaces served as the bridesmaid gifts, and I love seeing my friends still wear those accessories I gave them even years later.
After the dust settles from planning a wedding, you go back to normal life and the regular routine of things. Even so, it’s been fun to have special pieces from the wedding in our lives and in our home. We have one of the centerpieces adorning our kitchen table, especially the month of our wedding anniversary. Candles from the wedding are on various shelves in our home, next to some of our wedding photos.
I loved my wedding dress, but the seemingly small details that were used throughout the wedding day are what have stayed with me. The wedding jewelry, decorations and photos are the tangible reminders we still have in everyday life.
So what will your special something blue be? Have you found that last detail to complete your look as a bride?
The Loving Heart Collection has so many options for wonderful and meaningful pieces for the entire wedding party, whether it is cufflinks for the groom, bridesmaids or groomsmen or jewelry for your something blue.
Whatever you choose, find the pieces that will serve as a reminder of your special day to come.
Enjoy your wedding day!
